Bergen-Hohne, Germany, April 26, 1960: A tank gunnery exercise in which $9 million worth of ammunition is used produces a lot of empty 120mm shell casings, as this soldier at the Bergen-Hohne range can attest. Nearly 5,000 7th Army gunners took aim at targets during the nine-week "big shoot," which was hosted by V Corps' 4th Armor Group.
