Frankfurt,
Germany, April 25, 1954: Entertainer Danny Kaye, stopping
briefly at the Rhein-Main airport on his way to South Africa, meets his match
in mugging for the camera. His co-star in this photo is nine-month-old Peter
Habekotte of the Netherlands and Nairobi, Kenya, who was also Africa-bound.
Following his visit to South Africa, Kaye was to spend two months in the Far
East as ambassador-at-large for UNICEF, the United Nations children's fund with
which Kaye became so closely associated that when the organization won the 1965
Nobel Peace Prize, he was chosen to accept the award.
