Griesheim, Germany, August 31, 1956: Lou Rukeyser gets a laugh from his friends and co-workers at Stars and Stripes as he strides into his going-away party wearing a helmet. Rukeyser — who went on to fame as one of the nation's top financial analysts and host of the popular Wall Street Week financial show on PBS for 32 years — edited the "B-Bag" soldiers' gripes column during his time at Stripes. Louis Rukeyser died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, in Greenwich, Conn., at age 73.
