Paris, June 2, 1961: President John F. Kennedy visits the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) during a stop in Paris highlighted by talks with French President Charles de Gaulle. Kennedy was on his way to Vienna for a summit meeting with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.
